Marco Miller has four children with his wife, Barbara. They are proud Grandparents to 12. He has lived in the 5th House District his entire adult life.
After high school, Marco joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam, serving at Phu Cat Air Base. After serving in the military Marco joined the Columbus Fire Department where he served as Union President and retired as a Lieutenant. Marco was elected to the Groveport Madison School Board and served as their President.
Marco went back to school and completed an Associate's Degree in Fire Science at Columbus State and a Bachelor's in Public Administration at Capital University.
In 2012, Marco co-founded Grassroots Strategies. His company has successfully helped Democrats up and down the ballot and has helped produce and mail the Franklin County Democratic Party's sample ballot for almost 10 years. Marco's work on campaigns has not only touched Democrats across the county but every elected Democrat in the 5th House District. Not only is Grassroots Strategies a huge help to Democrats, but they organized their staff in the Graphics Communications Conference of the Teamsters.
Marco is a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post 283, where he was named Legionnaire of the year and served on their executive board. He is currently a small business owner, headquartered in Reynoldsburg. He owns Marco Miller Insurance and is part owner of Grassroots Strategies. He is treasurer of a non-profit motorcycle group that raises money for Veterans and underprivileged families. Most recently they adopted a family for Christmas and provided coats, clothing and toiletries to the VA in Chillicothe. He is also a member of the NAACP Columbus Branch.
In 2019, Marco was elected to the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Board. He currently serves as their Chairman representing almost 78,000 active and retired Fire Fighters statewide.

- Marco Miller leveled the playing field for Women and Minorities to join the fire department.
- Marco Miller fought to add non-discriminatory language that covered race, religion, gender identity and sexual orientation into their contract.
- Marco Miller bargained for the largest pay increase in the Fire Department’s history to bring Columbus in line with other major cities in the country.
As A Proud Progressive Democrat:
- Marco Miller has worked to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in Franklin County. His consulting firm has had some role in every elected Democrats election in the 5th District.
- Marco Miller was part of the team that elected over a dozen Democratic Judges in the past decade and turned our Franklin County Courts Blue.
- Marco Miller has served on the Franklin County Democratic Party Central Committee for over 30 years.
- Marco Miller was an integral part of the Reynoldsburg levy campaign that brings more funding to the police department, for the roads, and helped build the YMCA.
